Just over a year ago I became a Mom for the first time. It’s an understatement to say that the initiation into Motherhood is a little intense, but what surprised me most were the days and weeks that followed. I felt absolutely dumbstruck by the emotional ups and downs, and the demands of physical recovery.
When it comes to the postpartum period, all we ever hear about is getting back to a pre-baby weight. But there I was, nearly a week after my daughter was born, barely able to walk two blocks. I now understand that this is the norm for many women, but at the time I was so disappointed and unprepared.
After my experience, I wanted to make sure that every expecting Mama is armed with the resources and information they need to thrive before, during and especially after giving birth.
