So much love for Mamas for Mamas this Valentines Day!
This morning I woke up to my husband bringing my daughter into bed for snuggles, a funny card and a sweet gift (I, on the other hand forgot to even get a card 🤦🏼♀️).
I have a partner that makes this parenting game a true partnership. I have a roof over my head and we have the things we need and then some. It’s not always easy, but my kids have never lacked for anything.
But life wasn’t always this way. I grew up with a young, single mom who was navigating an entirely new country, to boot! I think about that now and it’s almost inconceivable. How did she do it? But she did her best (which, really, was excellent) and my childhood memories are pretty happy as a result.
For all its incredible rewards, we all know how emotionally challenging and draining parenting can be. Now imagine doing this, but not knowing where your next meal might come from, or not being able to afford a crib for your baby’s arrival. It’s heartbreaking.
So to me, supporting Mamas for Mamas means giving other deserving Moms (Dads) and their children in our community the ability to build happy memories even when things aren’t certain or easy.
Mamas for Mamas envisions a future where no Mama or child is left behind. Let’s help make that today!
